We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Manual Machinist to join our business in Crossgar, Co.Down. We are a small start-up business and are seeking an additional employee on a flexible part-time basis.

MANUAL MACHINIST

This is a part-time position based within G10 Precision Engineering workshop in Crossgar, Co.Down. Applicants must be experienced in operating manual machine shop equipment. The successful candidate will be required to manufacture and modify items using manual centre lathes, milling machines, and various types of hand tools, to assist in the repair and overhaul of equipment for Piling, Quarry, Heavy Plant and Bespoke requirements.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for producing quality parts during the repair, modification or manufacturing of components in a timely, safe and efficient manner.
• Inspection of parts to ensure quality requirements are maintained.
• Read engineering drawings.
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
• Perform any other work-related tasks and duties in accordance with the business needs.
• Comply with all G10 Engineering’s, Quality & HSE policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Ideal candidate will have completed a recognised apprenticeship with manual machine disciplines, equivalent to either Level 3 or NVQ Level 3.
• Have experience welding.
• At least 5 years of experience working in a machine shop environment.
• Experience in operating lathes, milling and drilling machines essential.
